Good afternoon, everybody!

I need some skilled advice on reassembling the shutter speed ring and the gears beneath it on an Oly OM-1. The problem is that I don't know the correct position of the corded gear in respect to the speed sensing ring. I've posted detailed explanations and images here>

and the corded gear I'm talking about is the disc 4 on this image

Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!

I did this when I pulled the shutter ring of an OM to clean and relube it ... I was unsure of the location of the gear engagement when refitting it. Try it in a few positions using the B setting as your reference because that is very easy to identify because the shutter stays open when cocked and fired.

It's a little fiddly and may take a few attempts but you should get there eventually.

thanks Keith!

trial and error is all i have 🙂
as soon as i nail it down i'll post some explanations and images, in case others have the same issue.

i have a service manual from 4 pdfs but if you could upload it somewhere or send it by email that would be great. maybe you have a different one and that could help.

in fact, mine is the service manual of olympus m1. some parts are clearly different in my om1n

thanks!

thanks a million!

i think it's the same manual i have but i'll check some things. in the meantime i've shot a test roll at it appears to expose correctly, for print film at least. any further attempts seem useless for the moment (i don't have a calibrated lightsource, i don't have the original battery etc)
