Olympus OM-F Clean and Repair

Got me a 99 cent special the other day, an OM-F with a Tamron Adaptall mount on it. It was very dirty, and it took some force to get the Adaptall off. Then after cleaning everything up, the mirror came out. I'm now waiting for the glue to cure overnight so I can run the camera through it's paces tomorrow.

Weldbond, but it didn't take. Two runs of the shutter, and it popped off again. I'm thinking some kind of epoxy next. I took a look at MicroTools, and didn't see anything specific that wasn't CA.

I was the VMT Facilities Director for 3 1/2 years, though I don't get down there very often these days. They've done a nice cosmetic job on the Number 6, but the 1115 (from the "Lost Engines of Roanoke") is still sitting on the outside track. I've got a lot of photos from that time I need to get posted some day.

They are now raising funds for restoring the 611 for excursion service in the NS 21st Century Steam program, and building a maintenance shed on the property. Details at http://www.vmt.org/

Use Monster glue. Epoxy might work, but you want the adhesive to have just a tiny amount of give. Brittle glues do not stand shock well.
