Olympus OM1/2 VS Leicaflex SL1/2: opinions about focus

I might argue that you are more insulting by telling me that my opinion doesn't matter or is irrelevant (funny Clinton quote, BTW 🙂 ).

But, we are all different, obviously, and who cares, really. It's beautiful outside, sunny with fog, you all enjoy yourselves. All for now.

Personally, at weddings and the like is when I switch off AF most of the time as I find I get better results focusing manually than depending on AF to pick the right subject to focus on.

You took the sense of my saying "what does it matter?" differently than intended. You called my statement "BS" ... I said it was my opinion and you disagree, but what does that matter?—they're both just opinions. Calling my opinion "BS" is at least as insulting at saying your preference for AF over MF was irrelevant to the question.

And then you said, "and who cares, really." The same sense as my response. ??

I've put the 25-50 on the D750. It's time for my Saturday morning walk. It's foggy out, with hint of sunshine to come. Hopefully my eyes will be open today.

For weddings, I would use the Zuiko 50/1.4 over the 1.8 It has much nicer out-of-focus imaging than the 1.8, mostly due to its 8 aperture blades.

Rather than worry about finding a 50/1.2 I would spend the money on an 85/2.0.

And to speed up your work, you can average your focus. Like tuning a piano, where you take the string up a bit over and down a bit under then settle in between, you can do the same for focusing. It's very fast. And think about it, how many times did we all spend minutes getting the perfect focus only to move our body ever so slightly before taking the shot, negating all that work?

You don't have to see the perfect focus you can feel it. Practice feeling for your focus and you will be faster and you will also benefit in low light or near darkness.
