Just joking, you are correct, I know this can happen and it happens already with my Leica x1!
This is why my "side-camera" has to be small but good! And nice...

E-M1 would be the comparable Olympus camera to the XT-1.

Yes, precisely why I have stuck with Olympus since I bought the E-P1 seven years ago (now have an E-P5). It's portable, takes good photos, and makes a useful complement to my film cameras when travelling.

Olympus is releasing a new 25/1.2 soon which will be better than the PanLeica, if you can wait.

Yeah after a few weeks now of owning the Pen F, I must say I'm very impressed with the results it produces and it has made me curious about the E-M1. It also could be a case of GAS:rolleyes:

Good thing i check this forum reguarly, i was going to go ahead and buy a PananLeica but maybe now I'll just wait for Olympus to come out with that 25/1.2....

I may be too forgiving but for me GAS is permissible if it doesn't cost you a fortune, which is why I wait for the new model to be released before I buy my digital cameras. I prefer the electronic Pen cameras, but the E-M1 is certainly their most capable camera, the closest Olympus has gotten to DSLR performance for action shooting and certainly the most ergonomic for larger zoom lenses. If you want to try it out, I'd wait.

Everyone expects the E-M1 Mark ii to be released within the calendar year. When that happens there will be deep discounts on the current E-M1. That would be the time to pick one up. Another route to go is to be a refurbished one if available on periodic sales here: http://www.getolympus.com/outlet_store

The 12 and 17: very attractive little lenses and both have the famous Olympus "clutch": pull back on the lens and you get a distance scale for manual zone focusing! Haven't tried it systematically on my 17 yet but it is kind of cool to have something like that on these ultra-modern cameras. Unfortunately the design doesn't allow manual setting of aperture.

Thanks for the link! Given that I purchased my Pen F a few weeks ago, I'm going to hold off on making any big purchases for a while. But its refreshing to use something other than Nikon or Canon :D
 
@ juan guardado: love photos in your blog, great series shot in Rome! And I liked the 3200 iso film with the cl. Was the film Delta 3200 ?

Been looking at the Pen F for a while but the price is somewhat high for what it offers. Recently, BH offered a $200 rebate and I jump on a black version. Tried a few shots and looks like a keeper. Shot several images with ISO with ISO up to 5000 with Oly 25 1.8 and 17 1.8.
