Oh great.. so i also got a mercury cell, but the lightmeter sill doesnt seem correct. Its way too sensitive, its impossible to take photos outside when the sun is shining. Has anyone had similar problems?

It's not impossible.
You just have to use a handheld meter or Sunny-16 🙂

That's how I always use my Pen FT.
Hoping that a 60 yeas old meter still functioning to specification, is to me, a low expectation.

Today I sold my Pen FT with 4 lenses, and my Pen D. It was the first time I've sold any of my camera gear. I've given some stuff away in the past, but it has been mainly acquire, acquire, acquire for the past 10 to 12 years.

While the Olympus Pen is a fun system, I have a collection of more cameras than I can use. I felt it was time let someone else enjoy the gear.

It feels strange, selling part of my collection. Not sure if it feels good or bad.

I agree. It does feel weird. I have realized that, in time, some gear has to go. I recently sold a black Nikkormat FT2, but kept the FT3, as all my Nikkor lenses are compatible with it. Similarly, some time back I sold two FTs, including a black one, with 38/1.8s. But I kept my favorite, an original Pen F, with case, lenses and accessories. While the black FT may be more collectible, I favor the original Pen F. I don't miss the gear, nor do I feel I shall regret selling it.

It really is amazing how sharp the lenses render in half frame. Nice shots above.

As to selling - the lenses are just too well suited to small sensor adaptor usage. Why buy again?

I have a pen f which I bought 2nd hand in 1971 for £45. It came with the clip on lightmeter and a flashgun holder which slots into the eyepiece and an original leather case. I made an adaptor to take standard full frame lenses that use the PK bayonet so it takes all my pentax lenses.
The only camera I have had that beats its sharpness with the zuiko lens was a Leica M2 with the 3.5 elmar.
If anyone can tell me how to upload photos I will do so.

You made an adapter for a PK to olympus PEN F mount? sounds cool! I have a OM to PEN F adapter, but never use it much. I prefer the form factor of the pen f lens. 😱

here's a pic of my recent black FT. meter is too sensitive and will read a ISO of around 800 when it's at the 25 setting.

agreed.....i might send it in to Kanto camera repair...but they quoted me 300$ 😱 for a overhaul/CLA.....might try john hermanson instead.

I'm really feeling this half-frame wonder. I'm thinking that this might just be my 2014 main street lurker.

Composing in portrait comes more 'natural' to me. I need to practice my sunny 16, so why waste a whole frame if it's not gonna be spot on. A TTL meter for reference and sanity checks.
