Olympus PS 200 gun flash - advise needed

This may seem a bit silly and I wonder if it is worth the trouble, but I would like to access the small bulb compartment. Can’t figure how to do it without using brute force to separate the two halves of the flash plastic body (I suspect the thing was designed to be discarded once the bulb got itself extinct), something I prefer not to do.😱

Has anyone attempted to open this flash (incidentally, the Minolta Electroflash P is the same flash, just with a different logo glued on)? Is there any way to open the transparent plastic “window”?

Retro, close, but no cigar. They are two different designs that just look alike. The flash tubes are different sizes, hence the bodies are different sizes. The ON switch is on opposite sides, and the battery caps are of different design.

The Minolta has two screws on the bottom that should release the halves of the flash body, but since I've never taken mine apart, can't confirm that.

The Oly looks like they may have hidden any screws under the placard on the bottom next to the hot foot. Looking at mine through a magnifying glass, there appears to be some glue oozing out around the perifery of the placard. Drip some alcohol on it to loosen the glue, so you don't damage it while prying it up.

Thanks farlymac. I tried to loosen the glue, in order not to damage the small manufacturer placard on the bottom, but to no avail. I couldn't pry it up and any attemps to do will probably fail. Well, never mind (I will probably get other Olympus PS 200 flash anyway). All I wanted to do was to clean the reflective areas next to the bulb, as the surfaces are partially covered by a fungus... I bought this item from a gentleman, together with other things and every single item had fungii! 😡
