Olympus shows its hand w a DRF?

If they made something like this with a decent (non-electronic) viewfinder, I'd get one right away. I don't see why there isn't any middle ground and viewfinders have been completely eliminated for anything less than a full-sized DSLR or DRF. I can't imagine I'm the only person who doesn't want to compose my picture with the camera at arm's length from my face, nor can I be the only person that thinks the new crop of EVFs (like on the Ricoh GR-D) are terrible.

It has a hot shoe though.

It caught my eye too!

I have to admit I've been quite intrigued by this beautiful little camera. Reminds me of the old half frame Pen F line of cameras. Which were the inspiration for the OM series. If they came out with enough primes at logical focal lengths I have to say I would be there in a heart beat. The Leica S2 is interesting from a professional perspective shooting for ads and such, but this, IMHO might be the next logical evolution of the rangefinder. I could be very happy with say a 13mm, 25, 52 and 150 set of lenses. Put two bodies, a small external flash and those lenses in a small hard bag and I would be set.

My gut tells me that Leica will be there too as Panasonic is behind the M4/3 system. While I would prefer Nikkor glass, I can live quite happily with good Zuiko glass too.

While many might say it's just a P&S, I've been very happy with the handling of the GR-D for street stuff. It's interesting that Sigma just came out with a 35mm equivalent to go with their 28mm body. Now if they come out with a 50, a 75 and a 21 they might just create a market for a new approach to P&S.

I have a GRD II. the GRDs have optional optical viewfinders. There is no reason, Olympus or a Third Party Manufacturer (Leica, Cosina, whoever) couldn't make optical ones for the Olympus, even if EVF turns out to be Olympus' preferred choice. Panasonic claims that the EVF they have on their M4/3 is an advance over previous ones. I wouldn't know, since I haven't used a camera with an EVF.

Although I do have the Optical VF for my Ricoh, and although it is on the shoe most of the time, I use it far less than I thought I would. I hope Olympus has a screen that twists, like the Panasonic. I'm interested in M4/3, hope it does well, and that there is some innovation with it in the next year or two.
