First pics from this $15 beauty (Thanks, greyscale/Mike), Walgreens processing, scanning:

I won't have a camera that won't do daybreak; this one does:

Thanks Paul ;)

I have one of these laying around too and your pics make me load it up with some film again. :p

Thanks, Zeno. It's nice to spread the blame. :)

(Psssst: you can shoot with other cameras and just not post the pics for 9 months or so ...)

:)

Great shots, Paul, that Stylus is quite the little dynamo. :)

I may have to start taking my films to Walgreens instead of Target, Target did a horrible job of processing my last couple of rolls, but your Walgreens scans always look excellent.

Thank you, sir. My Walgreens has a new poster-size print machine; I'd guess their other machines got a good cleaning, and the workers some more training ... :)

Folks, you realize we need the equivalent of the SEC for the photographic gear market :) Obviously, Paul has quietly cornered the 3.5 Stylus-market. Afther this thread, and the spike in prices it invariably causes, he will make a killing "in the market" :)

Seriously, very impressive pictures!

Greetings, Ljós

Good grief Paul...these photo's are stunning. What lens does this stylus have? Olympus makes some great P&S camera's but many have zoom lenses & don't know which to get.

Greg, if you send me a PM, I do have a twin of the one that Paul bought, for the same price that he bought his for.

As much as I'd like to. I got several P&S cameras I seldom use as is & this may be another. Darn good photo's it takes though!:)...tempting!

Greg, you better jump on it. The Olympus Stylus has a 35mm/f3.5 lens. NO STINKING ZOOM!
Oh, and thanks guys for the compliments. I was really pleased with the way the meter handled daybreak. Zing dead on according to what my mind's eye saw ...

Couple more:

I know that "too many cameras" feeling all too well, Greg. But I do have my eye on a nice Olympus XA ...;)

Another one!...I saw your flickr page! The XA3 is sweet! Got it bad don't you:D just kidding, You got some nice camera's there.

Paul I know I ought to but I'm wanting to get more proficient with the camera's I already got. Besides I'm trying to talk myself in shooting b&w using the Bessa in the coming year but when I see all the color film I have it's hard to decide. That 35/3.5 is sharp!

This is good timing, and good to see! I picked one up today for $10 and have it loaded and ready to go. I'll have to work out something to make the DX reader work with my 400 iso bulk film.

When Galfriend lost her Stylus a few years back (we're talking about the original Stylus here, as Paul has, and is using to stunning effect), I scoured deep and wide for another example, and found a near-mnt example, in the box, and snapped it up immediately for her. I still think it may be the best Stylus.

Thanks for the photos, Paul. Fabulous.

Hi Paul

Really like the second photo you posted - makes you wonder why anyone bothers with all this expensive gear when you can get results like that!
