olympus xa film advance

Hey all,

My new olympus xa's film advance does not move (moves a little, and have taken the bottom plate off, gears move a little but once they get to a point they stop)


Can anyone identify this or present some ideas for fixing it? its really nice otherwise...

Mine has the opposite problem ... the film advance is like the Energizer bunny; it just keeps going and going and going ... I'll be sending mine to John Hermanson at Camtech. I am not adverse to working on larger cameras of less value (to me), but on such a small camera with tiny screws and parts, etc., I leave it to the pros.

My camera repair guy says the clutch in these can go. Mine is with him now getting that replaced as I had overlapping frames. But your problem sounds a bit different. Sorry, this probably doesn't help at all! 🙂
