I'm interested in getting an Olympus XA. Of one's on the Bay that I've seen, many have the flash. Is the flash detachable?

I'd prefer to have a model without the flash (or detach the flash) as I'd be getting it for the size convenience which would be offset with the flash.

Thanks. I think I'm going to get one, but perhaps an internet dealer rather than a gamble of a "I haven't tried to use it. As is" type offering on eBay.

Definitely worth slightly paying more to get one that a photographer vouches for. Don't waste your time with the "as is. don't know if it works" type of ebay sellers on this item. These cameras are great but they will fail - they're just old. I make it a point to own two that work, as one always seems to die.

I ordered my from Kenmore Camera, whose inventory I have bookmarked. They're going to replace the light seals.

While dealers often have a 20% premium, I get better assurances of it condition. (This is when no RFF member is selling what I want).

Thanks for the tips.
