There seems to be a lot of Republicans in here.
My 2 cents on the OM 4 (back on point), I am in my 60's and been shooting and wet in a darkroom since I was 10. I am very familiar with SLRs (my family was convinced they were da sh_t) and was around for the Great Japanese Camera invasion of the 60's. I always shot larger or medium format, and my exclusive 35mm has always been Leicas. I was NEVER convinced that for my use SLR had any advantage over a rangefinder in small format cameras. Only four years ago I got laid up after an extended medical issue and from boredom I decided to actually BUY and OWN an SLR.
Within two months I had acquired an OM-1N, 2, and a 4.
I am a happy camper, I acquired Zuiko 21, 24, 28, 35, and 50 mm lenses, and I doubt I have more than $700 in the whole outfit!
My favorite is the OM-1 (more like a real manual camera), but for some reason I always grab the 4 first. I like them all equally and I chose Olympus over all other SLRs because the camera is smaller than an M-5.
I considered a T model (over priced and collectible) but I got the 4 for a fraction of the cost.
Now if one want's to nitpick about models, then he has WAY too much time on his hands, and that time would be better spent shooting pictures.

I haven't seen anyone talking politics in this thread, though RFF does have some outspoken right-wingers as well as some outspoken Lefties.
I have a Leica M4 that I have been putting a lot of film through since I got it a few months ago. Its smaller than an M5 and is still bigger than the Olympus cameras. I have three OM-4T bodies. The OM bodies are smaller and lighter than the Leica but the Olympus lenses are a lot bigger than Leica lenses, as SLR lenses always are.

Hmm.
Leica M[12346P]: 138 mm x 77 mm x 38 mm
OM1: 136mm x 83mm x 50mm

That doesnt tell the whole story. The OM-1, like all SLRs, is thickest where the mirror box sticks out from the front of the body. The Leica is the same thickness throughout, and is thicker than the grip sections of an OM body. Makes a big difference to me as I have tiny hands. I love my Leica and have been using it constantly, but the OM-4T is easier and more comfortable for me to hold

Jeez you lot - so someone has a different opinion to you about a camera. They're entitled to their opinion and your entitled to yours. It's not the end of the world. If what they say offends you that much, just ignore them and they'll get bored and go away
Get over it FFS. This sort of carry on and aggro is one of the reasons I don't visit RFF very much anymore
And as it happens, I love OM's

And I don't care about OMs. Being the insulted party here, I suggest pistols at dawn at 30 feet, three exchanges.
