Less than 2 weeks after getting my om-d, it is dead. First it was acting up with th pano 20mm, which seemed like a small issue , experienced by many. I stopped using the 20, and only used the panoramic 14/2.5. Suddenly today it went completely dead. Battery fully charged, removing the battery did nothing, it makes the usual humming noise but nothing works. Luckily I can still send it back. I am so disappointed. I loved the camera. So now what, I have to decide if this is a fluke, or is It more serious. I have not read any other reports of this, so maybe I am just blowing this out of proportion. What do you all think?

One in a million. Take it back to the seller and demand a replacement. Should be a straight-forward case with no arguments (depending on you local laws and the seller's integrity).

The U-shaped failure curve for electronics is well-known. Electronics tend to fail fast or go for quite a long time (unless subjected to abuse).

Be glad of this; yours is still within warranty.

Send it back but with return confirmation so there is no question as to arrival time and date. Be sure to contact the vendor first for an return authorization number before placing it in the post. Clearly write the RA # on the outside of the carton and on a cover letter included in the carton. Include a copy of the invoice. You just can't take any chance with an expensive return like that.

I am sending it back, it is still in the 2 week return period, I rely want to get another one, but am worried ..

then get another. these things dont happen often.
i've owned a bunch of m4/3 gear from olympus and ive had nothing but good experiences.. i think their quality control is pretty good.

if you like the camera then stick with it.
