Shooting the last of my Arista Premium 100 stock, and switch developers, make a rookie mistake and overdevelop like crazy. Most of the roll was trash but liked how these came out.

A few pages back, I think I documented a brief fling with an OM-1 and 1.4/50 Zuiko that unfortunately developed some issues and was returned, but... I may have fallen prey to some great customer service at Blue Moon Camera in Portland and come away with a very nice OM-2n and 1.8/50.
Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to shoot with it quite soon.

After having used loads and loads of cameras, the OM-2n is my favourite. Not only my favourite OM but my favourite camera in general. At the moment it is with Luton Cameras receiving a well deserved service.

That is a nice hood on that lens. I'm kind of excited to be able to use aperture priority (with a very good meter, from what I've heard) on a classic metal SLR like this one.

Agreed. Although I go between the OM1 and the OM2, these are IMO the best 35mm cameras ever conceived.

Interestingly enough, the 3.5 has more elements than the 2.8 and is heavier. I have both but I prefer the 3.5. Somehow it feels like it has less distortion although the multicoated 2.8 handles harsh light better.

Interesting, I didn’t know that.The 3.5 often sells for much less used. I was planning on selling a 3.5 and keeping the 2.8 - will keep both now 😊

Oh, what is my bad luck with Olympus SLRs? My new-to-me OM-2n was performing well as I put my first roll of B&W through it, at least until I noticed the film door seemed to be pressing back against my grip. Looked down, and discovered it wasn't latched. I tried to keep the door closed until I could rewind the film (which was almost finished), and when I opened it fully, I discovered the latch had broken apart.
I'm returning it under the store's warranty. Also exchanging the 50mm f1.8 Zuiko for a Pentax-A 50mm f1.7, provided it is in stock once the camera arrives there in the mail. I'm sticking with Pentax bodies that I know work. At least until the next Olympus hits me with its siren call.
This one would have been a somewhat easy fix (possibly as easy as slapping on a film door taken off a nonfunctioning camera), but I figured the return was the wisest move considering I borderline overpaid for this camera.

Like some members here I also have both the 3.5/28 and 2.8/28 Olympus lenses, but somehow find myself using the 3.5 more even though it is the older of the two.
