OM, I've become a Zuikoholic!

Thanks you guys, zuiko's are great lenses! i specially like the 28 f2.8, a polarizer helped me a lot to get sharp pictures in the northern highland light. Thoses lenses will never cease to impress me.

OM-2n, Zuiko 50/1.4, Tri-X

Keith --- is that the 49mm filter version of the 35mm f/2, or the larger one? I have just decided to offer my Zuiko 35/2 up for trade -- I really want the 28/2. I once had the 49mm filter version, which I assume is later production. Ignorantly I sold off my entire OM set -- OM3, OM4T, 24/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.4 (>1.1m), 100/2.8.... I've returned now, with the OM2n (which I love), the 55mm filter 35//2, a 50/1.8 MIJ, a 50/3.5 macro (superb lens), and the Kiron 75-150mm f/4. So I needs a wider lens than the brilliant 35mm.

So if anyone wants a 35mm f/2 to take pitchers JUST LIKE KEITH's, watch the WTT ads.

This is 55mm and according to maitani who I got it off it's a late serial number ... I have a really early one which is also 55mm. The early one starts with 111XXX and this is 157XXX. I thought the only 35mm with the 49mm filter thread was the f2.8? The early 35mm f2 is still a good lens IMO but when the opportunity came up to get a late one I jumped at it. It is definitely sharper wide open and this one is like new ... my old one is pretty tired and looks like it's been around the world! :D

I'd have to rate it as the best 35mm I've used to date on any camera and it just about lives on my OM-1 now. I haven't used a 35mm that regularly gives a 3D look wide open like this baby does.

imo, there's no 49mm filter 35/2 zuiko, all I know were/are 55mm filter, correct me If I'm wrong.

I did a search through various lens registers and it says they (35s) are all 55mm except the f2.8.

Whatever ... it's a brilliant lens and you're at the top of my list of RFF sellers who have sold me something I've instantly loved. :D

I'd be interested to put it up against my ZF 35mm f2 Distagon one day ... but lens tests are boring! :p

I'll tell you what is funny maitani ... after all the OM-3 lust I had, once I got that camera off you I put a couple of rolls through it thought "meh!" and went back to using my OM-1! :p

That OM-3 looks damned fine sitting in the cupboard though! :D

oh, darn, another OM-3 shelf queen... :( you can still go back to it should your OM-1 once break... ;)

about the 35/2 I read there were 2 or 3 prototypes of a new 49mm filter design (which was showed on a brochure), but unfortunately never made it into serial production.

It's strange because it can be used exactly the same way as the OM-1 ... the spot meter's not compulsory! :p

I think the OM-1 has a little pixie dust inside it somewhere!

I'll probably be using the OM-3 at the end of the month when I need an extra body for a job I'm doing where I won't want to be changing lenses.

"...the OM-1 has a little pixie dust inside it..."

Indeed. Despite better specifications and build quality the OM3 just lacks the OM1's magic, somehow. My OM3 also slumbers on a shelf...

D.

I'm glad I'm not the only one besotted with my OM-1.

I think a large part of it the smoothness of the advance ... I also really like the glossy black paint compared to the more satin finish of the OM-3. Mine's just starting to show a little brass on some of the edges ... making it even more beautiful.

And the pixie dust of course! :D

I haven't used an OM-1 since I got an OM-2N and an OM-3 earlier this year. But that's just because I want to use the new ones.

I now have a little collection of OM-1's, OM-2N, OM-2S, OM-3 and OM-4T. I still haven't used the OM-2S.

I suffered a sudden vision loss last January that almost left me blind. It is recovering with a lot of treatment but I can not, for the life of me, see the meter scale in the OM-3 or the OM-4T. Even the needle in the OM-1 is a challenge. I'm pretty good with the Sunny-16 thing in general.

But if this is all the recovery I get I will be selling the OM-3 and OM-4T and keeping the OM-2N for practical usage.

That's a shame. All the best for a speedy and full recovery!

+1 on a speedy recovery ... I hope you get some more improvement in your sight.
