Here is one from my lovely OM2 with Fomapan:

The nearer of the two looks rather like my OM2SP, and I think the other one is an SP as well, but I could well be wrong.
Very correct

50/1.8 and 35/2.8 on their way to make my SLR a bit lighter and more usable. I'm rather more excited than I have been about that camera now. Hope to have some good stuff to share soon.

The 50/1.8 is my favorite lens after the 100/2. It really is sharp, light and has nice bokeh also. Underrated, but sich a nice lens. The 50/3.5 is great as well.50/1.8 and 35/2.8 on their way to make my SLR a bit lighter and more usable. I'm rather more excited than I have been about that camera now. Have had a couple 35/2, but was too bulky for my taste in 35mm, i've heard from a fellow OM-user that the 2.8 version is great also. Generally i take the 24/2.8 and 50/1.8 with me on my trips.

The 50/1.8 certainly is underrated - by me, for one. It's what I had when I got my OM-1, but I couldn't wait to get a Tokina zoom on there. We learn later, I suppose. The flip side of that is that they are as cheap as chips on ebay.

I've given up trying to understand the way prices move on ebay. Fuji X10s are now going for twice what I paid for my wife's. We recently bought a Kari-Me baby sling. Normally advertised as like a Moby, but for about two thirds the price, the cost of the Kari-Mes has shot up to the same as the Mobys, and hits almost exactly the same spot on every auction. Yet the Mobys are still the same price. I'm glad we bought an unfashionable colour at the right time, but it's daft the way things go.
Same with Electro 35s. I bought for about £40 when that was a very regular price. Then they very quickly went up to £60. When I wanted to sell mine, of course, it was down to half that. Unfathomable.

ebay not really a great judge of prices, the Buy it Now stuff is marked up so
high you can't really tell. I was looking for a Pentax 20mm F2.8 FA lens and
the buy it now prices were $600.00 and up I waited awhile and got one for
about $400.00 Still high but better than the BIN price.

Buy It Now is often completely unrealistic, so if I'm interested in an item, I'll track a few auctions to get a feel for the market.
Good bargain, there, btw.

I shot a roll of Neopan 400 on an OM-2n with 35/2.8 yesterday. I will develop it tonight.
I have only used that lens once before, for a few frames, so I am a bit excited to see how it does.

I am looking forward to receiving my OM-1 tomorrow, after sad stories with two OM-2ns, somehow I keep getting back to them. I picked one with dead meter on purpose. So excited that I bought many rolls of film just because, I sourced for the missing MD port cap, and of course a nice strap to go with it.
Now my question regarding black prism foam, this one is S/N 1712*** so I guess it is a pretty late production? Can anybody please tell me if this one has foam on it and what year of production is this?
Thanks a bunch and I will start reading from page one to minimize silly repeated questions. Have a good one!

A little update, I received the said camera, and it is in a worse shape than I remember it was. I took it to my usual repairman, and today he called that the repair was done with good results! I couldn't be happier. I put a leather strap on it, a yellow softie, and a matching yellow film type reminder from a TMax cardboard box. Vanity, I know, but what a dandy camera it has became. I'll post pics soon.

A softie (soft release button) can damage the camera if it gets bumped. I recommend that you not use a soft release on OM cameras, based on what I have read on this forum and elsewhere, just to avoid the damage and heartbreak that may result.

Thank you Sid for the warning. Does that apply to OMs only or to just about every camera?

I was referring specifically to Olympus OM cameras.
See this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133516
However, I have a Leica M3 that took a bump and it doesn't work anymore. I believe it crashed into the underside of a car seat softie first when I hit the brakes hard.

This thread, while excellent, has not helped my GAS. I went to the local camera store (the only real game in town unfortunately) to look for anything interesting for my Nikon F. I didn't find anything (no surprise there), and as I was browsing I saw a couple XA2's, so I checked them out. Neat, but I just can't pull the trigger on those. Then, sitting on top of the display case was a black OM2. Well, I made the mistake of touching it, and I felt the power of the OM. Nice size, and it just felt "right" somehow. I didn't buy that particular one (overpriced), but just got a very nice looking OM2 from the bay, and that should be here in a couple days! Very excited!

I need to share today's thirft shop find: OM 50mm F1.4 in box, looks like it has never been used (not a single bit of dust anywhere) - $50. I cannot wait to run a roll of film behind it
