I just want to say that reading the last few pages of this thread has inspired me to get out my OM gear and start shooting again after a couple years hiatus. Cheers

Yep, the OM stuff sure is nice.
In my quest to try small and "cost effective" lenses for a recently acquired A7, I received today a very nice OM4T, and a few Zuiko's. 24/2.8, 28/2, 35/2, and a 35/2.8 Shift. Most is boxed, as well as a few accessories, Winder 2, Vari-Magni, and T32. I'll acquire some longer lenses as well in the near future.
Looking forward to running some film through as well as trying the Zuikos on the A7.

I had a roll of TriX sitting around for ages, which even went with me to SE asia and back as I didn't end shooting it back in 2010.
As B&W film is rock solid, a 2 year past expiration with cool storage might not even be noticed.
BUT the OM1 with 50 1.8 is in my backpack and I try to take some photos around my routine. So nice to be on TriX and with such a great camera.
It is great for my mindset, as I began to watch locations around my university, and possible situations to frame.
I thought I'd ditch 35mm but the partial death of my m43, the not so-portable Fuji 6x9 and the decent phone have made me recommision the OM.
I'm for sure taking it fro my student exchange. If I dated it well according to a discussion before in this thread, my body is from January 1976. 40th anniversary soon

So I kind of did. iPhones have a lot of nice voodoo which make it a great P&S and video camera and it will be the sidekick for that.Shab

Well, I like your avatar. Make it justice, ditch the phone!

Going to the Film Photography Podcast's Walking Workshop this weekend in San Clemente, CA.
I will take my OM-3 and maybe a MJU-II. Probably a Mamiya M645 too.
Gotta get that OM out in public again.

... I'm thinking on getting an Digital SLR like A7: small body with great sensor for my loved Zuikos.
I recently did so. So you have my support!

I can now confirm that the newer "made in japan" 35mm f/2 is better (sharper and less vignetting) than my low serial number silver nose version. At f/5.6, the old lens catches up (and both perform equally as good as my $1200 Canon 35L).
Anyone interested in buying my older zuiko 35 f/2 cheap? I don't have a need for two of them. It's still a wonderful lens, especially if you shoot stopped down a lot (street, etc.).

I am curious how they compare to the Zuiko 35/2.8 at 2.8 , 5.6 and above?
My 35/2.8 came to me in mint condition with its original case and caps. It's a great lens.

At f/5.6 and above, I am sure they are all dead even. Both of my f/2s are as sharp as my Canon 35L at f/5.6. At f/2.8, the new one is sharp and the older serial number simply is not.
Edit: I take that back. f/2.8 actually looks good on the older serial number lens. Just not as good.

I jumped in the pool recently with an OM-2 that was donated to me. It was not functional but after a CLA it works great!

I've not really used my OM's for some time now and I feel a little guilty. I used to swear by the system, but slowly it's been replaced by other camera's (50% Olympus XA, 25% Leica M6, 25% Konica Hexar).
Lately I've really been wanting to shoot with an 28mm and I'm not really feeling getting an externa viewfinder (and expensive lens) for my Leica M6, so I figured I'd pick up one of my old Olympi (or wouldn't that work because Olympus is Greek, not Latin?). Turns out both my OM-1's meters aren't really working. And my OM-4 needs a CLA too. Argh. Guess it's time to go meterless...
