Finally put the OMD to the test and justify why I bought it when I already have a Canon 7D (great camera by the way). I wanted something that could take my old zuiko lenses, was weather proof (firefighting) and had stabilisation and good high iso performance.
Yesterday we 'burned in' our new large volume live fire training prop. With no windows, it was very dark inside, illuminated only by the fire with visibility getting less and less as the smoke increased.
All were taken with the 12-50 kit lens at 3200 iso. And because I was wearing SCBA mask, the rear screen came in very handy.
Resized of course, but full size are nice and sharp. The stabilization was very effective with the low shutter speeds.
1/30 @ f3.5
1/10 @ f3.5 (backlit from open rear door)
1/20 @ f4.7
1/8 @ f4.5
1/10 @ f 3.5
Cheers - John

Nice images... Reminds me of fire fighting training in Navy boot camp many (many, many) years ago. I love my EM5 and it makes some great images, in both good and bad light.

Join the club. The OMD has become one of my fave cameras ever since I got it. My M9 is in danger of becoming unemployed...

Very nice detail. I think your (or the camera's ?) exposure decisions were excellent.

Hi Willie,
I was very pleased with the exposure, especially the first one image. The firefighters on the right were in near darkness with the left side brightly lit by the fire. Didn't expect such a range.
