Omg, leica?

Every photographer acts surprised when I tell them I shoot with a Leica.

Why is that? It's just a tool, like any other camera.

Leicas aren't your average photographic device IMO! They have their roots firmly in the origins of 35mm film like no other camera. It doesn't make them that special as a tool though because realistically they are just another light capturing box ... it does make them somewhat unique though!

regarding the mouth and back pocket, i just did that the other day shooting a charity event w a m3 and my classmates were quite amused.

I don't often tell other photographers what I shoot with, I usually say 'various' - if asked. If they see that I am using a Leica ( or similar 'old tech.' camera ) they do act surprised, then with a condescending smile - say something like - - "of course - I've been digital for a long time, now!" 🙂
