I thought I'd throw this here. I recently published, mostly as an experiment, a small story/essay on Medium on ferryboats. All the photos are made on film and a mix of TLR, rangefinder, and SLR cameras. I do a lot of work and research on islands so eventually I built a collection of ferry-related photos.

As I said, aside from reading a few things here and there, I have no experience with Medium as a platform so really just curious if there is an audience there for this kind of stuff.
Cheers

Bojan - never heard of Medium before your reference to it. However, I enjoyed your photos and text - we have our own ferrys system of course over here on the wet coast- thanks for sharing

Thank you David. A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of using BC ferries to get to Vancouver Island and then Gabriola.
I've been lurking on Medium for some time and I kind of like the payment scheme idea behind it. Really not sure it will work, but the media model is so broken, I am willing to offer a bit of support to anybody who tries something different.

I love ferry boats. We have 2 of them in our vicinity, the Galveston ferry, and the Lynchburg Ferry near San Jacinto, Tx.

Besides the photos, I like all the references to ferries from ancient literature.

I was moved by this thread to place on my Flickr site, this newly post processed photo from a trip to Hong Kong that took I a few years back. While it does not show the ferry I was travelling on, it does show the sights across Victoria Harbour when making the famous Star Ferry trip from Central to Kowloon.

Although we have a fleet of ferries here in Puget Sound (Washington), there's nothing quite like ferries in Sweden in the middle of winter (Feb-Mar).
