On Kiev ''cla''

I have just been reading about a full Contax restoration from -
www.zeisscamera.com.

It seems that a Contax type camera needs stripping down far further than a cla provides - incl getting all the muck of the parts and specialised grease etc .

I just wonder how a Kiev 2 would perform following this true tlc ?

I would be more than content to pay $300 to have my '55 Fully refurbed to that spec , but alas it's not to be ...

Poor relation still ?

Send it to Eddie Smolov (123camerarepair@gmail.com) in Brooklyn NY instead and he'll do it in a week or two for a whole lot less. A LOT less. He did my non-functional Contax III for $75 & CLA'd my collapsible Sonnar 50/2 for $25. Tell him Raid Amin or William Barnett-Lewis told you about him & you should have '55 that is as good as they get.

I'll probably send him my '77 Kiev 4A & '60 J-3 in the near future as well.
