Hi,
Can anyone recommend me a good mail order processing house?
I seem to be getting so many poorly printed pics these days, it's quite depressing!
I have just had 5 films back from Boots, one of them is absolutely terrible.
I scanned some negs in off the film & printed them on my desktop printer & they are far superior/sharper than Boots attempt, there is nothing wrong with the negs!
A few months ago I had 2 rolls done by truprint. There were simillar scratches on both, but 1 one was taken through my Minox & the other my Bessa.
It seems no one is bothered about film these days :bang: - please can someone prove me wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Colin

Take them back and tell Boots to do it again.

Sorry, I was busy earlier to give a better response.
This is what I did...
Get the exact model number of their minilab.
Go online and get the operator's manual to discover the functionality of the machine.
Take a roll of film to Boots and ask for Dev. + HIRES CD, no prints.
The latest Fuji Frontiers can print on 12" paper so they can scan good enough for 12x16. Previous models could only take 10" rolls and scan and print to 10x14.
Essentially what the operator needs to do is to scan for the max size for the machine and choose not to make any prints.
The upside is that the Dev. + CD costs (for me) about 30% of the Dev. + prints.
You may want to print a few pages from the manual and take them with you. So when the people in Boots say it cannot be done you can show them the instructions.
It works.
