Well, sort of. My wife and I went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park last week. I took my Canon QL19, Olympus XA2, Vivitar Ultra Wide and Konica Minolta Z2.

It was overcast and there were sudden downpours, but we had a great time. I highly recommend taking the "photo caravan" tour.

I'm really glad I used a rangefinder instead of an SLR with a long zoom (nothing to do with the fact that I don't have a long zoom lens). I wanted a different perspective on things and I think it worked because of how close I was able to get to the animals.

Here are some pictures:

Canon QL19, Acros 100, HC-110, dilution B, 68 degrees, 5.5 minutes:

I love your compositions

I love your compositions

Especially the lone giraffe and tree. Your people shots are great, however I would have liked to see them shot with TriX, I have not warmed up to Xp2 yet. I am waiting for my xa2 to arrive in the mail, I like what you did with it using colour. Do you prefer xa2 with colour?

Thank you for the kind comments. 🙂

ampguy - I am most impressed by the Vivitar Ultra Wide, an $8 all plastic camera with a 22mm lens and no batteries.

lawnpotter - I do tend to use the XA2 more for color because I had some bad experiences with B&W early on. But, I think that was just the way the lab developed the film. I shot a recent roll of HP5 at 800 (self developed) and I liked the results very much.
