On travelling light

I always carry a good pocket camera with 35-40mm lens wherever I go.
I usually find this more than adequate for travel as well as daily use.
I won't buy a jacket unless it has an inside chest "camera pocket"...

Peter,
How long is your trip?
I have a 5-day stay in Portugal; that's it.
Would I need two cameras?
I'm here for 3 weeks. Spent the most time in a rural area which is alternately flat & mountainous. Some time being spent in the capital Suva that is both a port and a thriving commercial center. Ending with a resort stay. :D I think cam/lens requirements are situational rather than stay length related. A couple of years ago I was in Madrid for a week and a 35 & 50 would have sufficed because of the shooting possibilities in that city. Here I really need the 90 for landscapes. I brought some color film and one thing I'm really glad I did was to bring just one speed of film (100 ASA). So easy for swapping lenses and incident light readings...

Enjoy your trip to Portugal! :)
