ona in black leather

In general I dislike bags like the Domke, because I am scared that all that metal could scratch my gear.
But I have seen the ONA BOND STREET, color antique, and fell in love. A beauty a no dangerous metal parts!
The perfect companion of my M5! (in Italy we use to say "it would be its dead" meaning perfect match)
Can wait to buy one!
Cheers

I agree with Paul about the Domke metal fasteners. Although I do use them, I have had a Domke clip put a really nice scratch on the viewfinder window of my M6TTL. I would prefer the much-maligned velcro, but the bags that use velcro won't hold the kit I usually carry.

...I like the way the leather looks on the ONA bags but they are soooooo heavy.

Yes, that's my issue with Ona bags too. Even the canvas ones are way overweight compared to the Billingham and A&A that are priced in the same range. I'm also a bit leery of them because I've heard several reports of strap attachment point failure with Ona bags, particularly the Bowery model.

"How is something metal on the oustide of your bag going to damage your camera on the inside?"
It is when you extract or put inside the camera of course
But in all honesty, it is me.
I am awkward and tiredness and apprehension may worsen things till disaster strikes
I understand a pro may use the camera in an iron bag and never scratch it
Me it is like the metal part were magnetic
Also I love the like new look of my gear. Amateur' sins

I have an unhealthy obsession with bags.... If you guys have any questions about ONA bags I feel like Im the correct person to ask.

I own:
Bowery in Blue canvas
Bowery in Black canvas
Bowery in leather
Bond in leather
Prince street in leather
Brixton in leather
camps bay <--- was not happy with style of this bag.
Clifton in leather.

I have the Bowery in leather but wouldn't buy any leather bag bigger than that due to the weight of leather bags. I would also never buy any bag in black due to heat issues in the summer months.

I have an A&A GCAM (I think it's 1100 but am not sure). It's a lovely, lightweight bag that fits two Ms and three lenses and has beautiful leather is amazingly soft but also amazingly tough. It had a frightening price tag when I looked it up new, but I bought it for $100 second hand (almost unused). It weighs less than half what an Ona Bowery in leather weighs and carries the same amount of gear.
