My partner's birthday happens at the end of July and, by tradition, the typical balloons are allowed to decorate our dining area until they can no longer rise into the air. Well, this tenacious balloon has hung on and hung on ... nearly to my upcoming birthday on the 26th of August! I thought it looked stalwart and tenacious in the morning light yesterday.

Thank you both for the BDay wishes! 
I feel lucky to have made it this far, given The Catastrophe of last October 14th. Sheesh, my 69th year did not go the way I'd expected last year about this time at all... But I've survived and actually feel pretty decent for the most part.
Shooting a few photos with the M10-R the other day reminded me just how delightful a camera it is. The dynamic range in this photo was way out of bounds, but it managed to retain detail in the highlights while allowing me to pull up the bottom end of shadows nicely. All the while capturing the color very accurately as my eye perceived it, and with a very nice grain-like structure.
