A startup is in process of creating a non-traditional drf using two imaging sensors instead of normal mechanical rf mechanism like the Leica drf. So no mechanical roller arm required would be my guess.
Whether their designs sees the light of day or not, who knows. They gave deigns for ff 20mp as well as apsc and 1inch size sensor cameras.
They gave a target for 2016 on their first camera.. I wonder if someone will buy them before their first ship?
