Just saw this listing...seems high for a GSN, but maybe it's the photos that are driving up the price?

What is 'mint condition'?

I love a good GSN, but wouldnt pay more than $50 for one even with a CLA.

Geeeeesh...that is nuts. I bought one in almost as good condition in a pawn shop for $26 CDN. And that was back when 61 cents bought a CDN dollar.

It's going so high because it is being bid on by collectors, not photographers.
The premium price is due to the appearance of having never been used, and still in the original box. I see it still also has the original battery in it's unopened packaging - a sign the camera was never used.
I doubt it means that "user" GSN's are going up - this is a shelf queen collector's item.

I agree. I also imagine that the vendor is equally surprised as we all are at the bid this has achieved, and there's 2 hours to go!

A shame that it might just sit on someone's collection case collecting dust!
Hey, if we all picthed in a few bucks we could buy it and send it around for all to shoot with...A RFF camera.

And what? Take yet another perfectly useable camera from the grasp of collectors?pesphoto said:A shame that it might just sit on someone's collection case collecting dust!

The seller is disingenuous in saying the GSN is a "Leica copy." Leica inspired the development of 35mm photography, but not all 35mm cameras mimic Leica models so closely as to be called "copies."

Actually, I think this other auction by the same person is pretty amazing:

As the URL indicates, it's a 21mm Skopar (old one, with viewfinder but no adapter). I bid yesterday, when it was around $200, but now it's up at $382 US ($375 hard currency... I mean, Canadian). I wonder if the bidders realize that these things go for $329 US new (CameraQuest). Maybe it was Winogrand's.

Im not sure about that lens, but the GSN is up to $260

Went for USD 345.00.
Unbelievable.
I got a less than "mint condition" GSN for fifteen euro. Still using it sometimes.

cripes! Can I say that? Does this person realize they could have a user Hexar AF for that price?

I got my (yeah here i come again!) user hexar AF for 200 euro and a trip to Amsterdam. Included three spare batteries, two cases, a ND 4x filter, strap, manuals and 3 rolls of film.
But we are talking collectors, i guess, not users.
