one-handed stowing?

Okay.. for those that have the new Ikon.. what's it like holding it in one hand with the arm relaxed down to your waist?

I'm used to a little grip thingy from the G2, which places pressure along the insides of my fingers without having to clench the wrist. In other words, the camera stays without me exerting any pressure. I purchased a Leica M2 not too long ago, and the flat body gave me cramps in my fingers trying to hold it down by my side. I don't like straps.

Think I'll experience these "cramps" from the ZI? I'm thinking yes, as it, too, has the same flat body, but, it is lighter.. there aren't any nearby here to test out 😱 😱

I hope Zeiss offers an accessory right-side grip for the Zeiss Ikon body. The Leica grip on my M2 is very helpful, you might look into getting one of these too.

Just get a half case from Leicatime - I bet it fits the Zeiss Ikon too.

This is clearly an attractive solution for some users. I have carried in a half case years ago, and finally gave it up as an unacceptable impediment to film changing... which seems to usually be necessary in the midst of what you're in a hurry to capture! Just one more thing to hold in one's teeth or stash in a pocket...

If you wrap the strap tight around your wrist then pull the piece attached to the film cassette end of your camera taut that provides pretty good support. I've been carrying an M7/50 Summilux combo which is not light and no need for a grip or clenching either - it seems to be a pretty "carryable" combo! 🙂
