"We also recently welcomed documentary photographer John Densky to our staff as a contributing photographer. John's photographs, featured in the current issue, were taken at the G20 summit in Toronto, Ontario, Canada earlier this summer. The display of power and the tension of impending chaos captured by the photos we thought was a perfect juxtaposition to the meeting's focus on the world economy in the wake of the global financial meltdown. His photographs reminded us of the political nature of art and, by extension, the often implicit radicalism in the act of writing and reading."

Wow, nice intro indeed. Pics?
But anytime I hear "juxtaposition" I cringe. It's a personal thing, but sounds like too much fluffery. 🙂

Quite the intro.
I'm sure that was quite an interesting time , Ive got a friend in that area who said it was positively ridiculous. He said after a long night of drinking waking up to cops in riot gear was a new sight.

it was very interesting. i had never really dreamed of seeing that sort of thing on the streets of Canada.

what is truly unfortunate is the matter of the earlier march (Saturday a.m.) that was mostly peaceful and very large.

John, those are some kind words. Congrats! Do you have the images posted online

'm6 and 60, mass' is bomb my friend!

there are a few g20 shots on my website. towards the end of the gallery.

i will put some more up once everyone is finished hawking their magazine with them.

Similar to what my friend said , he never imagined that would ever happen in Canada .

The earlier march should have sent the loudest message yet sadly it was mostly ignored due to the 'action' that unfolded later on.

In my humble opinion the events of those two days must have been carefully orchestrated. The alternative is that the security forces were profoundly incompetent. Either option is unsavory.
