One street photogs transition from Contax G2 to M6

Ah, yes. I know Dave. Good guy, great shooter. The one person I know who has "done" just about every format, went all-digital, then back to film (there's a link on his site about that). Through all this, his eye has remained keen. That's better than I've been able to pull off at times!

I stumbled across his blog about a year ago and visit often. His photos are an insporation to me when I am down. I think I have read almost all his testimonials and your right, the one about being a cameraholic is a riot. Very talented and unselfish man. Even shows you on his blog how he mats his prints. Thats cool. I keep telling myself I'm going to buy a print from him so I need to do just that. BTW are you the same Barrett that replies to his blog alot? Just wondering.

And, your welcome Frank.

Yep, that's me. 🙂

In some ways, his camera "odyssey" was similar to mine, save for the fact that he was much more adventuresome in formats than me. He also seemed to get a lot out of each format (I think so, anyway...he might disagree with me on that). The most interesting transition (and the one I was around to witness) was the film-to all-digital-and-back one. he could wring more out of a digial file than anyone I know, but ultimately digital didn't "do it" for him, and now he's back with his Leicas.

Right, then...back to fixing this client's computer, which obviously can at least get online. 😀

How do I get one a "Voigtlander 28 f/1.0 " that he seems to have found? 😉

Nice article, I enjoyed his account of his interaction with the M6, and return to the M3. It's all about the lenses, and the viewfinder. Lenses, view and brain all need to connect to make good pictures.
