One Wickedly Top Heavy Body ;)

do you think the hood would interfere with the viewfinder?

Looks kinda goooood. 🙂

Anyway, how much should I expect to pay for this lens? I'm thinking of bidding for it.

I don't know about modified. I've seen several for the 7 go in the $700USD range lately, though. It would be fun, wouldn't it, to use that on a Bessa... 😀 ?

I was thinking using it on my R-D1 at first. I also have a CL.... The auction photos gave me an idea. 😛

That has to be some kind of joke to put it on a CL. Take the smallest M rangefinder and put the biggest aperture lens on it.

Why a joke? Don't have to use this lens all the time at f.95. If I want that I'll stick it on the M2.

What I've seen from this lens is that the look it gives is quite nice. And it'll be cool to use it for the plenty of night photography I do, though at $700 it's a tad over budget. I still need that CV 15mm.

It won't fit in the CL case.

Better to get a Canon 50mm F1.5 for a fast lens for the CL, it fits in the little pouch case made for the 40mm Summicron.

This lens would be great on an M3. An M2 will also handle it, but that 0.92x finder gives some margin in handling the focus.

A hugermungous piece of glass, makes my Nikon SLR 85/1.4 seem very small. It seems to defeat the object of having a small body on a CL. Depth of field at full aperture would be an interesting problem under some circumstances.

Buy a Nikon SP with a 5cm F1.1 Nikkor-N. Fastest F-stop lens that Nikon ever made. In terms of T-stops, I think the 55mm F1.2 SC Nikkor has it beat. 7 Elements in 5 groups, not 9 elements. The 50mm F1.2 and 58mm F1.2 went to 6 groups, "slightly" less T-Stops.

The Canon 50mm F0.95 is an amazing lens. Only 7 elements, used new (at the time) high index of refraction glass. No thorium, as the 58mm F1.2 Canon FL lens used.

Man, that would be a dangerous lens to have near if it ever developes fungus...

Could make a nice Creepshow story 😀

Well, the M6 doesn't fare any better when it comes to this lens... lol
