eBay at it's finest:

BIN at $1250! Wrongly described as from the "30's" (looks like a T type 1 from early 60's) and according to Dan Colucci's price guide they usually go for $ 275-475, and this one does not look all that great either.

To top it off: "The camera is sold "as is" with no warranty."

Could be why no has even put in a bid....

On the other hand....who knows?

If I was sure of that I'd report it to eBay as being fraudulently described.

I emailed the guy and politely showed him the links to serial number websites but he replied: "My father bought this Rollei in Austria before 1932 and used it during WWII." Must have one of those time machine Rolleiflexes.

Then all you have to do is buy it and take photos of the stock market pages for your grandfather to see in 1932 so he can become a billionaire and leave you a big pile o' dough.
Then you'l have enough money to BIN this.
Oh, wait. The auction ended with 12 bids to a whopping 26 bucks and the camera is unsold. And I couldn't find any other current auctions from this seller...
But there was this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150225918643
This line in his description caught my eye: "The pictures were borrowed but fairly represent the camera visually."

The seller was correct - it's a 1930's Automat. The serial number he gave was for the lens, not the camera body. The BIN price was most optimistic...

I've been communicating with him a bit and he's realized now he was using the lens serial number. It is an Automat 2, and the other one an Automat 5 (MX-EVS). Both not worth much more than $150-300 USD it seems...
