Now I carry the new £150 Fujifilm XF1 everywhere 'cos it takes up an insignificant amount of space in my bag, making it almost invisible.
To be honest, I wanted it 'cos it's like a miniature rangefinder with it's manual lens and tan 'leather' covering. Style over substance.
Previously, I considered 4/3rds the minimum size to take serious pics.
This has trickled down from decades of 35mm SLRs, I guess.
I don't do a 'phone with a camera, just something which I can answer and send easily. Even that stays at home most of the time.
But I am getting to use it like a notebook, rather that write things down, a snapshot of say, a plant description at a Garden centre, or of the page with the Fujifilm review in a mag in the supermarket [ I kid you not ].
The Alfa Romeo Guilietta car I would like to own in a car park...
Just non photography stuff. Not that my snap shooting seems fine these days. but even the Samsung NX 1000, bought cheaply [ £150 ex-dem ] for that purpose is a touch too bulky to carry everywhere.
However, it is also pressed into my favourite cloudscapes using the 25mm equivalent setting [ something I would never usually use as I stick with 35mm-100mm equivalent ]
Currently, smart phone seem to take the place of a camera...it's a bit like my XF1 taking the place of a smart phone!!
