Oops. Underexposed Delta 100

I knew this would happen eventually. I took out the Zorki today thinking I had Delta 400 loaded in it and shot everything at 400. When I rewound and took out the canister I discovered it as Delta 100. 🙁

Oops. Any hope for trying to salvage this in the developer or should I just toss it?

It was a very overcast day so upping the contrast might not be fatal for every shot, if I overdevelop... I would be using HC-110.

gene there are some developers listed here that will develope 100 @ 400.

Thanks Joe. I don't have any of those developers and there's nothing important on the roll. It has casual shots that I could take again tomorrow. I could probably take the HC-110 200 time and double it, but I suspect the best thing to do with this roll is pitch it and hope that someone comes up with a good pill for aging brains 😀

Gene, rather than pitching the roll into the circular file now, why not consider it an interesting experiment to push-develop it and see what happens? No great expectations, maybe, and you could still pitch it later. On the other hand, sometimes useful things result from accidents. 🙂

Thanks for the encouragement to develop this roll to see if it was salvageable in any way.

I developed it tonight and to my surprise it looks as if I have several workable images. They may be a bit contrasty -- I'll see tomorrow when the negs are dry and I scan them.

I looked up Delta 100 times on the Massive Development Chart and for Dilution B they gave 6 min @ 20C for iso 100 and 8 min @ 20C for iso 200. I developed for 10min @ 20C for my iso 400 goof.

Certainly lots of midrange detail. If anything decent comes out of this, I'll post a sample.

Looks like Delta 100 can handle a two-stop push without any problems!
Great to know, as whenever I bring only ISO 100 film, there`s suddenly clouds all over......

Michael, Joe, Amund, thanks for looking! I was surprised, to say the least. What helped these out is that it was a drizzly, darkish, overcast day. I'd have never thought of pushing Delta 100 by two stops, so maybe it was a happy accident. Now I know it can be done.

Gene, I think you're right! As I was looking at your posted pics I noticed the flat lighting and thought to myself that the pictures would have been rather dull looking had you NOT pushed them! As is, they have sparkle, looking very good. Glad you didn't dump that roll...
