Wayne- 717 is definitely one format I'd love to play around with too. Before the Canham I had a Wisner 810 that had interchangable rear standards- my thought when I got it was upping the format size at some point. But my hands were not happy with the knobs on the Wisner, too hard to grip (arthritis), so I traded it for the Canham, which has levers instead of knobs. Much easier on the hands, if a bit less robust of a camera.
LF is great fun, albeit M U C H S L O W E R than 35. The Grafic is certainly among the fastest 45 (thus the SPEED in the name), so you'll seque into it soon enough. Tray development isn't so hard, and the light from a Gralab timer isn't enough to fog if you keep it across the room or gobo'ed. And think about the polaroid 55 film- beautiful negs, though about grainless, the fastest way to get your fix for a 1620 print.

Doesn't it. Unfortunately, the convenience of roll film has made me lazy. Maybe I should get their 6x24 camera:

Thanks Trius. Amazing that there are still some of my brain cells apparently still functioning.

Polaroids, anyone?
Polaroids, anyone?
I can't help myself. There are 3 Polaroid backs headed my way. 1 each: 405, 505 & 545. I suppose I need some Type 55 P/N film, eh!
That's it. I'm not buying another thing for the Speed Graphic. The next purchases will be chemistry and developing hardware. The day is coming!

If the FP shutter is still functional, make sure you shoot some subjects moving in the same direction as the shutter as slower shutter speeds. You can create some very interesting things if you try.

The FP shutter is working. 1/30 sec. is the slowest speed, vertical travel. I've seen some pictures that Jeff Bridges made with a rotating lens camera. When folks moved it was wierd.
