Opinions about 35mm lenses

i don't want to step on any 35 Ultron lovers toes but I owned one and sold it. Why? Ergonomics no like; always fiddling for the aperture wheel since the lens is tapered. Colors not saturated enough.

I have the 35 Summilux ASPH, but if I could not afford the Lux' I would consider the 35/2.8 or the zeiss 35/2.0. These are first rate.

i sold my zm 352 to get the 35/2.8.
the f2 is a great lens but the 2.8 has a touch more character i think. slightly less contrast and a bit different look to it.

i have images posted here somewhere but also on flickr if you care to look.

I just checked out those images -- that's a really nice set w/ some terrific shots. Oh, and that's a pretty good lens, too! 🙂

If you look for a lens with "some" character, I would go for a nice copy of the 40mm Summicron-C. At f/2.0 it has a certain center-sharpness and is very nice for portraits (also focuses down to 0.8m if I remember correctly). Stopped down, it is on par with the 35mm Summicron-M.

Well, I'd recommend the CV 35/1.4 Nokton Classic. I'm really liking my photos from it so far. I'm sorry I don't have anything on the internet from it yet.

Honestly the more I see images from the 35 1.4 nokton I think its a great lens in all actuality. Plus I personally think that its more about the photos themselves than the lenses.

With 700 loonies, you have many cool options for a 35mm.....

If speed is a requirement, then you could afford a used cv 35/1,2. It is a great lens....just very, very huge for a RF lens. You could look at the cv 35/1,4, too; although most prefer the rendering of the f1,2.

If speed isn't a requirement, then there are f2 to f2,8 35s in abundance. For 700 loonies you could get the zm 35s or a mint summaron 35/2,8 or perhaps older summicron 35 or a hex 35. Any slower cv 35 is an option, too.
