From another thread, I followed this link about critiques of others' photographs:

http://theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com/2006/06/great-photographers-on-internet.html

Like the title of the thread, everybody has an opinion and opinions are like arseholes but not many people care to hear either one.😛

Of course, I don't go with extremes as I find truth is always somewhere in the middle. I am however, very interested in the contrasts in life. So, there is a place, IMO, for critiques, opinions, recommendations, etc.

In the end, though, whatever happened to "The Golden Rule"? You know, treating others how you would like to be treated yourself.

RFF is an amazing community. Learning is just a click away on most any thread. Lately, I have been experimenting with different film cameras and some old Nikon digital P&S cameras. I would hate to hear the critiques of most of those results. But they would be correct.

This week I went over the results of my trial with the 80 Summilux on the Leica R4. My keeper ratio has dropped dramatically due to my slow learning curve with focusing on close-up objects. But those keepers are superb and give me hope that I can actually climb that curve quickly.

All I can say at this point is, I feel like a noob again. And it is inspiring me to move farther away from my comfort zone.

Maybe soon I will have something to actually post that I like. We'll see.
