i'm very interested in getting a leica m 21, probably an elmarit, for an xp1 and wanted to seek out user opinions/recommendations on how they perform.
thanks!

Never tried a 21mm, but the 28 Cron is a stellar performer.
Easier to MF on the XE-1 than the X-Pro1 too.

Most (99%) of rangefinder lenses wider than 28mm will have badly blurred corners on X-Pro1 with some minor recovery at f/8-11. Some people report that tri-elmar is OK due to retrofocal design. In general Fuji cameras aren't designed for rangefinder lenses. I'd strongly recommend getting one of the native lens instead (23mm, 27mm and 14mm are all great; 18mm a bit worse).

ive seen some very nice results on this forum, in the 'm mount lenses on xp1' thread, with the elmarit 21/2.8.

I have been using my 30-year old 21/2.8 Elmarit-M on my X-E1 with reasonably good results. There are several examples included in this set on my Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ronssmith/sets/72157635028409127/
