Light leaks aside, I've had a good time shooting an Iskra purchased from a member here. It isn't quite as pocketable as the Zenobia though and I've realized I prefer square frames - so I've been on the lookout for a Perkeo with a good shutter and a Color Skopar lens to replace the Zenobia. Anyway, I stumbled across this while watching ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...si=h8kWYghYbQVbaTLg%2B6ySiNun0FQ%3D&viewitem=
I wasn't looking for a SI IV but it seemed like a great price, particularly with shutter CLA, hood/filter, and the free shipping. I guess I'll have to compare it to the Iskra and see what stays at this point.
I suppose that means another camera needs to go into the 'sell on rangefinderforum' queue.
I hope this camera is in good shape. More of a gamble than I like to take to be honest but at least I'll get the Super Ikonta mystique out of my system.

Medium Format Baby!!
I have one with the light meter still working. It's a bit off a fiddly camera to operate but the images are fantastic.

Thats good to hear. There seems to be less talk about the camera than others I've seen - a bit surprising over all to be honest.
Camera aside, those are some beautiful shots. I love the tonality and shadow detail in them. I miss Neopan

You bought the camera at a great price. Once you get used to the synced aperture and speed controls (I had John at Focal Point convert mine to a non synced version by griding off the coupling arm) these are very fast folders to shoot. I loved mine, but it's Tessar lens wasn't up to the level I was after so I sold it. I think the Iskra has a lot better lens, but the design and build quality are far behind. The Ikonta is built so much better. Really miss mine.
