Was watching tv seeing all those misguided liberals and misguided progressivist in the crowd cheering and being really happy when obama got 2nd term..
I mean I wish I could be blind and happy like them but my conscience won't allow it.. knowing about NDAA , Increased Drone kills , Continuation of Guantanoma Bay Tortures , Kill list , 2nd 1000th death toll in Afghanistan in Obama's term , Continuation of the Patriot Act , the list goes on..
Anyway it's just a late night rant and i feel kinda depressed each time this election stuff happen anyway :/

Others feel depressed when they read misguided right-wing rants. Just don't worry about it.

I always liked to think that Liberals generally wanted to have freedoms and less govt spying on them or have their rights taken away.
The thing is most of the Obama voters don't follow up to how he used to say , when he is elected 1st term he would close down the Guantanamo bay. Or how the NDAA act allows citizens to be indefinitely detained without proof or a right to a lawyer. I thought these were what liberals were against..
guess they are all confused..

No. I don't think even his greatest fans are happy about him. But remember, he didn't win. Romney lost. Two pre-election op-ed pieces that reflect my thinking on this subject quite clearly, both better phrased than I can do myself.

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/10/case-against-romney.html
I voted for Barack Obama in 2008 because a review of where the Republican ideology was taking us told me that in that direction lies the destruction of the United States of America as I knew it. I voted for him again this year because what he has accomplished, despite huge and intransigent obstruction on the radical right, is what I was hoping to see.
I don't believe Barack Obama or his administration to be without flaws. They have made, and will continue to make, mistakes. But the mistakes they've made are so far less egregious than the mistakes of the previous administration that I believe they deserve not only the opportunity for a second four year term to realize their goals, but that they also deserve a FAR fuller environment of cooperation and a willingness to negotiate and compromise from the obstinate radical right, who will destroy this nation if they continue on their current ideological path.
For the good of the people, for the good of the nation, this Republican Congress should redress it's obstructionist ways and do their jobs. Which is not to demand and demand their way and nothing else, but to come up with sensible, useful governance, cooperating with the rest of the representative body, to support the whole nation.
I'm not a partisan voter: I've voted for Democrat, Republican, and Independent candidates and proposals many times in my life. At present, however, I cannot vote for the Republicans as I find their ideology bankrupt and the results of their past governance destructive in the extreme.
I am relieved to see that a good man who is acting based upon a sound plan, with both reason and a willingness to negotiate and compromise, is still our president. Someone who honors the concept of Reasoned Discourse upon which our nation's laws are founded. And I am patient to suffer through the long, hard work that lies ahead to realize the goals of change and progress, despite the adamant obstinacy of the opposing party.
And that ends my contribution to this political discussion.

They aren't both that different in fact Romney Care was what Obama Care copied off of. Foreign Policy not 1 bit different except Romney is a little more agressive on it.
But anyway , now if either side Republicans or Democrats tried to pass a decent bill that will be useful god for bid or a new law that may help the country and not their a like parties , it will never be passed why? the Senate is owned by 1 party the congress is owned by another.
To them party comes first , then party donators (Goldman Sachs , JP Morgan , etc) and then their country.
Popularity wise it looks like we are so much divided than before 49 percent right , 50 percent left.. Funny their both candidates are identical.
It's a shame...

That's why it wasn't easy! After Obama's performance over the last four years -- the unfulfilled promise -- Romney should have been able to crush him. Bur Romney was EVEN WORSE, in the eyes of most people. They aren't both that different in fact Romney Care was what Obama Care copied off of. exactly! if they picked Ron Paul as their candidate for the GOP would have been a much different story. Old days of grassroots campaigns are long gone, both parties are funded by big corps

How true. Had that happened then I would have voted Republican ticket instead of what I did.
As to them being similar - how true, also. It's not that Romeny is any worse... just not different enough or with a significantly more promising set of promises.
All candidates make big priomises, and all elected break many of them. Real life is VERY different from campaign life.

What a nice situation. I never mind discussions of politics, sex, or even rock-and-roll so long as they stay civil. I like the tenor of htis discussion. RFF mods are quite enlightened if they are realizing that -- BRAVO!

just as an FYI if Ron Paul were a serious candidate I would move from observer to actor in the political realm.
A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Stormfront. I would legitimately leave if he became president. I don't want to live in a country where, at best, people can look past such a horrible thing.

Sadly, like most political battles, it tends to be decided on personality rather than the actual issues at stake. It seemed like "better the devil you know" at the end.
As a UK citizen who knows neither of the individuals and has only a basic grasp of the differences between Republican and Democrat, Romney came across as someone who makes Sarah Palin look like an intellectual with pinko leftie leanings! Frankly, I'd rather leave a chimp in charge of the "red button".
Just my perception - for right or wrong.
