options for printing M8 photos

Hello All,

Where I used to live, I had a good outlet for printing my digital photos to larger form, 11X17, etc. But I have moved, several years have passed, and technology has changed.

I'm looking for suggestions. I'm aware of options to purchase my own large, high-tech printer. That sounds nice, but--of course--is costly. Thus, I'm more interested in getting input on online or mail services that provide excellent service and photo IQ. I know there are many such services, but don't know which are best, etc.

By the way, I'm several weeks into owning an M8--and utterly loving it. (So much that I put my Nikon gear up for sale on ebay a few days ago.) 🙂

Going the home route for printing can also become enjoyable due to being able to control the look of the picture in Photoshop and exact cropping. I have been using the Epson R1800 for a while with good results especially on glossy paper. This can go to 13x19in and sells for around $500 and uses archival inks.

Check the Epson R1900 beast. I like its 13 X 44" capabilities for panoramic prints

I'm pretty impressed with the output from my HP 9180. It's a pigment printer and produces up to 13x19.

It's been the perfect companion for the M8.
