"Orangie" the Leica IIC

"Pylon"; Road pylons/cones tend to be orange in my country 😉

Personally, I think having black vulcanite would look more contrasty with the orange top/bottom. I'd have to see the final product to pass full judgement.

Around new years I had Alan Starkie paint a Leica IIIc RLM Grey for me. It is DEAD sexy!

Rick I love that stepper of yours, it really looks great, is the leather painted as well?

Yeah... No fake brassing it's just part of the finish process

Grit, Paint, Grit, Paint, Grit, Polish.

My brother is a much better painter than me and I've been working under his guidance to assure I get the best possible finish.

I love TPB! Reminds me of the good ol' days! Season 10 was killer (w/Snoop)

I really want a Leica I/Standard to paint orange...

maybe keep the original vulcanite...

best keep that quiet before Im burnt at the stake.

Just a squeaky clean shell for that gorgeous leather!

Still ongoing,

I only have nights to give it. Lately not many of those with my work schedule.

Paint is in its final stages, planning for a March unveiling.

Just a quick update,

I will be doing the "Big Reveal" March 12th at the Second Sunday Camera show in Redford, MI if anyone wants to make plans to come chat.

Otherwise RFF will wait until later that evening.

Haha.

Unfortunately I do not have much new to show,

I've been really busy with work and some paid projects that got bumped ahead of Orangie.

I'm hoping to put more time in not this week but next as I have a good 3 day stretch off work.

Sorry folks!

That's okay, don't rush it. Don't need this to be like the Film Ferrania thread over at APUG, where they missed their self imposed deadline for shipping P30 film, by two days, and everyone is having a hissy fit.
We'd just love to see it when it is done, and appreciate the fact that you took the time to document the process.
