order refurb to europe?

hi all,

i would like to ask if there is anybody who has made an order of the refurbished R-D1 to europe? if so, what was the price of that afterall? do i have to pay US vat, my country vat and some other fee (i don't know the name of this fee, it is paid if you bring something from other country and has a value over about 200$). thanks for answers...

i would love to have this little beast but it is a risky busines (refurbs, ebay ...) and a new one is a bit expensive for me

I'm not sure, but I don't think Epson USA will ship to Europe. I think I read earlier where Canadian users couldn't even get Epson USA to send them RD1 batteries. Maybe you could contact Epson USA and find out if they ship to Europe.

As for taxes and duties, the USA does not have a national sales tax, nor a vat. Sales taxes are set by the state and/or local governments. For imported goods I guess you would more than likely have to pay your nation's vat and/or import duty.

If I were you being in Europe, I would get your camera where I bought mine -- Robert White in GB. They are good folks to do business with.

It's been discussed here before. Epson will not ship the refurbs to Europe.
