orion-15 kiev | contax mount

No mention of the Kiev fit Russar in Princelle, nor in the KMZ archive site. The Sputnik lens is mentioned.

A translation of the bottom part is:
1) - the experimental data of the resolution of experimental objectives, carry ouied on the photographic materials of the type KN, which resolve about 120 - 130 lines/mm (Volosov). Basic sources: Catalog of the articles of Krasnogorsk plant of 1962 A.F. Yakovlev "the objectives: photographic, movie, projection, reproduction, for the magnifying apparatuses ", catalog GOI, l., 1970-1971 g.g. Urmakher HP. "optics of photographic and aerial photogrammetric instruments", M., "Nedra", 1965 Of volosov D.S. "photographic optics", M., "skill", 1971 photographic lens "Russar" (MR -2) for the cameras of the type "Zorki", description and management, KMZ, 1972. The black and white photograph of objective is undertaken from the catalog of the articles of Krasnogorsk plant of 1962. The optical diagram of objective, sent by Aleksandr Bronstein (Alexander Bronstein), is undertaken from the page of site The Classic Camera

I have the LTM version of the lens, its "OK" but not as sharp as the Orion - 15, you need to stop to f11 or thereabouts to get edge to edge sharpness. Good finder with parallax correction.
There was a bit in the Amateur Photography magazine a while back, apparently a workshop in Poland had adapted some to Kiev/Contax mount.
The LTM version is not R/F coupled, doesn't really neeed to be. BTW it does not fit the Bessas!!! Also on some FSU cameras it fouls the R/F cam follower. It fits my Zorki4 ,Fed3, Zarya but not my Fed2.

I have never come across any of these, are they quite cheap or are they collector's item? I am in the market for a Tessa based lens for my Kiev and I am just looking for something cheap.
No, most of them command collector prices. For inexpensive (and good) Tessar in Kiev mount your best chance is to follow Industar-61 conversion instructions at Kiev Survival Site :)

I wish I had the monies for a 28mm lens in contax mount... anyway if you seek a russar, there are two available here in a shop with their 20mm viewfinder. Price is , if I remember well, still 10.500 CZK (czech crowns).
that's still only slightly below € 400.00 ... wim, we're two re: russar. :D
it's the only fsu lens i don't have and still want to purchase.

The 28mm is showing up as "located in Prague", so I asked the selller if it's possible to pick it up in town, but he said he'd send only by regular mail (seems more accurate with ebay/paypal safe trade policies I bet).
i remember you had written that you're after the orion-15 in kiev mount, i maybe should've sent a private message -- if eugene wins, i want an honorable mention!

The Russar will still available new in UK up to about three years ago, from Global Cameras, now sadly no longer trading.
I bought mine new from there about 8 years ago.
Att shows it on the Zarya I bought in Prague last year at a little shop opposite the Bethlehem Chapel.:)
