Hi, anyone have any photos made with this lens? (28mm/6)
I have a chance to buy one for 80euros, which seems like a decent price. what really turns me off is the f6. too slow. and how do you like the lens in general?
thanks

Hi Lubitel,
I have one whiich I paid about 90 euros thinking it was a decent price. It's slow but with good contrast. What I find really annoying are the quirky ergonomics because you have to put your finger inside the built in lens shade to change the aperture settings
!
I have some shots in the gallery and on my blog, let me look for them and I'll post some links,
ciao

thanks for the nice shots, ergonomics are probably similar to J-12, also quirky. I just don't feel like spending a few hundred dollars for a "good" 28mm. orion-15 seems like a good beginners 28

I thought the same when I bought it! I just wanted to be sure I'd enjoy the focal lenght before spending more money on a more valuable one.
Anyway, to skip the ergonomics problem I use to set an aperture (set the hyperfocal on that aperture) and then change the shutter speed if needed for exposure adjusting. Quite easy and fast option for street shooting in the end.

I rarely need a 28mm but use one sometimes for interior shots. So the Orion--at $75 plus an M-adapter--was a good choice. I already had a KMZ turret finder. I like it a lot, especially for the price. If I used a 28mm more often I'd buy something faster, but I don't, so I feel I sort of slipped under the radar with this one.
Do be careful about fitting filters. An aluminum-to-aluminum fit can jam, requiring a camera-type wrench. Put a tiny drop of oil on your filter threads.
