I just picked up a powermac g4 dual 1ghz and 22inch cinema display for around $200 for use as a dedicated photoshop machine to run cs2 as the intel chips are s**t and lock up running the old software. The problem I am having is that I have lost my os x disks and need to know how to burn them off .dmg to boot and install of osx on my new machine with a blank hard drive. Any help would be great thanx

what.... the display alone worth the amount u paid~

to your question, go get a Toast (any version is fine) and do the disk copy with the img file.

I believe if you mount the DMG (that is, open it) then open Disk Utility you'll see the DMG as one of your mounted disks in the disk utility there is an option to burn it to a CD within disk utility I think. You can also do this with Toast burning software if you have Toast.

Will this work if the disk images were taken from a torrent file? I have toast 10 on my macbook pro and both a 4 cd install version and a single DVD version both for Tiger.

Don't mount the .dmg and don't bother with Toast.

1) Open Disk Utility
2) Click Burn
3) follow prompt to where you have the .dmg and select it.
4) select desired options
5) insert disk burn & have fun

Enjoy! You've got a nice machine there at a great price.
