My sympathies go to all Norwegians affected by this atrocity. Here in the UK we have suffered such acts of terrorism for many years firstly with the IRA and later Al-Qaeda. These acts haven't broken the British spirit so I'm sure the Norwegian spirit will not be broken either.

I've had a recent but strong connection with Norway, having visited twice in the last year, and having had an incredibly positive experience both times. This whole event is terrible and sad, and I hope all of you over there are holding up. It's impossible to make sense of the senseless. You all have my deepest sympathies.

Thoughts and prayers for the people of Norway.
Indeed ...bad stuff.
So much sadness caused by a single act.

I, too, was shocked and still puzzled by the madness.
Your photo is really well done and I immediately wondered how you were able to get that image without a problem. Well done.

Truly sad and horrific thing to happen. I regurarely visit Norway on my summer holidays. It's the last place where one would expect a thing like this to happen.
I will continue to visit the lovely country in the future as well and maybe one day make all the way down south to Oslo as well. Like someone else said earlier, it's still the same nice place as earlier. This was the wrong doing of one sick individual.
At the same time it's hard to imagine how scared, hurt and violated the ppl in Norway and especially in Oslo feel. Their city and capitol that used to be a safe haven has now been violated.. takes time to get over things like this.
My heart goes out to all people affected by this act of terrible violance.

It's a very sad time here. People are basically still in a state of shock. It's a very small country and most of us know someone that has been affected by this personally.
I know one of the news photographers that was around the island (from boat) while the shooting was still going on and later with the surviving victims. He described the scene as unthinkable, sick and unbearable.

Here in Australia we are shocked and saddened by these events, especially as it was apparently carried out by a local citizen. For us this revives memories of the Port Arthur massacre of 28 April 1996, when a lone madman killed 35 people and wounded dozens more. For all those directly affected, we would express our condolences, and for all, our thoughts are with you as you come to terms with this terrible tragedy.

Thank you all for your very kind words.......they are so needed and greatly appreciated. I still struggle to understand what has happened and I think I will for quite some time.
