OT- Anyone using Godaddy?

I have a client who signed up with them on someone's recommendation. So far I'm not enjoying the process they have in place. I have never had a worse time setting up a site. Usually it takes 10 minutes (often less) or so just to upload pages and the supporting files.

I know this is way outside the forums intent, but I think someone here mentioned using them before.

Any advice? Just PM me. I may have to ditch them and move my client to my host.

I've gotten in the rut of registering domains at godaddy, but I didn't like the look of their hosting setup. There are better, cheaper hosts, IMHO. I got the impression that they make their margin on overpriced hosting.

I have been using 1and1 for 3 years after a recommendation from a pal. Their interface was mostly clear from the start. It has only gotten better over the years.

Finding information at Godaddy is pretty tough, and what you do find is often vague or incomplete.

I also noticed that there seems to be a charge for every little thing.

It turns out the client has two accounts and the one I dont have access to has control of his domain name. Odd part is both accounts are with Godaddy. Something about an account for parking the domain with Godaddy. Seems odd that when he purchased hosting they didn't offer a simple way to transfer the domain to the hosting plan. Bizzare and annoying.
