OT: DAG - any news?

I know that Don at DAG is pretty good with his e-mail and messages, and I'm pretty sure that's been everybody else's experience with him.

Lately, though, the last e-mails I've sent have gone unanswered. Does anybody know if he's on vacation or anything of the sort?

I bet that is it. I got a package from him last week. It did take 6 weeks for the two lenses I sent him to return, but they are as close to like new as they can be right now.

i'd try by phone to be sure he's in and not taking a few days or weeks off (i don't know that he does). but a confirmation that you want to send something and that someone will be there to receive it. then, pack it and a list of what you want done and send it off. you'll be very pleased with the work he does. he rebuilt a IIIg and an M6 for me last summer, and they are both like new and a real pleasure to use. and he upgraded the rangefinder on the 6, also very nice.

he almost always replied to my queries within 24 hours.. usually I'd get an email from him around 9pm of the same day.. maybe he hasn't been replying to emails in order to use his time to get customers' work done so he can take a few days off for the holidays

I got an email from Don last Friday, and a nicely CLAed lens via UPS yesterday. He always replied to my queries the same day or next.

Hmm. Well, I sent him a lens back in November. Have asked him about another quote. Haven't heard from him ever since I sent him my lens in November.

Hmm.

Most recent email I had from him was the 13th after my IVSb arrived back.
