awhile back i had visions of writing in my favourite coffeehouse ala gene w, with a small palm pilot and a folding keyboard.
so i bought a used palm vx and a folding keyboard.

it still sits here, next to my computer, unused.

so i thought maybe i should just sell it and use paper & pencil if the mood strikes while i'm out.

it is the palm vx, portable keyboard, charger and software for the keyboard. i found the rest of the software on the net to get it to talk to my computer.
there is a case and stylus, and an extra stylus too.

i paid 100 bucks for it, make me an offer if you're interested.

I have the same delusions of grandeur that I'll write the next Great American Novel in a coffee shop.. that's half the reason I bought a Powerbook instead of a desktop Mac.. to date, I haven't written a single paragraph, and that novel is still tucked away in my brain.. but someday you all will be able to say "I knew him back when he was still a regular guy before his book hit the bestsellers list.. now he's just that rich snob who dates supermodels and takes suggestive photos of them with an MP"

not wanting to write the great canadian novel, just some poetry.

have you read any of my stuff?
try my blog sometime.

i wrote an epic poem (for me) about sept.11 and a few less intense poems also.

45 bucks for this pda ?

I never knew you had a blog until now.. I just read "Scratch My Back".. very personal but something I can definitely understand.. it was excellent, joe

I hope someone picks it up, Joe. I use mine every time I go out -- I'm a fixture at the local Starbucks, and people often stop to ask me what it is. An ancient Palm IIIc with folding Palm Keyboard. I even bought an extra one of each for good prices on eBay in case either part breaks. Notebooks and pens work just as well for me, but I can type faster than I can write and I like having my stuff captured electronically.

Someone should give it a go. Joe's price is very, very good!

actually, what I'm looking for is a digital voice recorder.. it's a daily occurence for me to come up with some earth-shattering idea and have no way to jot it down for future reference.. so far I've thought up and then forgotten the cure for the common cold, the lyrics for several potential hit songs and a sure-fire way to remember anything

gene, stop it!

once again you're inspiring me to take it out and write.
and now with winter coming and coffee shops being so inviting...damn!

😉joe
I see it now. You'll be the Jean-Paul Sartre of Edmonton, known to all as the writer in the cafe. People will be lining up for your autograph -- on your VISA card 😀
